Alyssa specializes in a wide range of areas. She is especially skilled at supporting folks with life transitions, anxiety, depression, challenges in their relationships (platonic and romantic) and making changes to their drug and/or alcohol use. Her work supports folks who are navigating the effects of trauma and systemic oppression, providing them with insight and skills to manage their experiences.
Alyssa draws on a range of modalities tailored to each client’s unique needs, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical-behaviour therapy, ecotherapy, mindfulness techniques, self-compassion and strengths-based approaches. She incorporates skills for effective communication and relationship-building to support clients in expressing their needs and navigating complex interpersonal dynamics. Her trauma-informed and anti-oppressive framework ensures that all interventions are sensitive to the impacts of trauma and mindful of systemic inequalities.
